Central Govt orders withdrawal of 10,000 troops from J&K

Nearly an year after historical abrogation of Article 370 of Indian constitution and bifurcation of Jammu & Kashmir into two new Union Territories i.e. Ladakh and J&K, The central has ordered immediate withdrawal of 10,000 security personnel, mainly CRPF troops, on 19 Aug 2020 from the newly created UT of Jammu & Kashmir.

According to sources, the decision was taken after MHA(Ministry of home affairs) reviewed the deployment of security personnel in UT. 10000 troops have been ordered to be withdrawn immediately and report to their respective base locations. This is biggest de-induction of troops since new UTs, J&K & Ladakh have been created.

Previously, another 7000 CRPF personnel were withdrawn in December last year.

We will update more details on the subject soon.
